Description

I have a passion to build a small-scale, sustainable permaculture inspired farm that focuses on raising livestock and using natural systems to decrease the use of pesticides. I am beginning with chickens, sheep, ducks and rabbits and will design a small permaculture garden that I hope to keep expanding. I will be selling eggs (chicken and duck eggs), lamb meat, rabbit manure, wool, and eventually sheep dairy. I will continue selling microgreens, chicken eggs and beef tallow. I have a lot of ideas, a lot of passion, and a lot of willpower. My grandfather owns 100 acres in upstate New York, and I grew up around horses, cows and chickens. I have always loved the farming life.

My business is not yet registered with the CT secretary of state, but yes, I am starting a farm business. I have completed my farming plan, and I have also begun growing microgreens and selling those as well as raising chickens to generate income. My microgreens are grown in my house, and I have been selling those locally and I plan to expand that, but I really want to grow in other areas (raising sheep, adding more livestock) as well as create a bigger garden outdoors. I currently just don't have enough land to grow anything, and the little land I do I only have enough room for my chickens.

I have experience with horseback riding; I have been doing that since I was little. I also have experience with taking care of cows at my grandfather's farm (He lives in upstate New York outside of Albany). I am currently raising chickens, and I have self-taught myself and continue to self-teach myself with the internet and hours of daily research.

I am working on creating an LLC for my microgreens, chicken eggs and beef tallow. I have a shed I use for the production of beef tallow that I make into skin lotion, and I plan on continuing that as well to generate income.
