Bailey Hirschboeck - Country Critters Farm

I have been in the world of agriculture for ten years now.  I own and operate a small farm that is looking to grow.  I currently raise rare breeds of livestock through sustainable methods and am looking to grow my business in the hopes to one day farm full time.  The farm is quickly outgrowing the current property we are on.   

I have experience with a number of livestock species and worked on a dairy farm for a few years managing calves and completing daily tasks with the milking herd, enjoying every second of it.  I am now a large animal vet tech learning the ins and outs of farm animal medicine and emergent care.

The current business plan involves a few different aspects that all come together to create a profitable business.  This includes small ruminant dairy, specialty crop production, meat production, and value-added products that come from each of these sectors.  

Education is a huge part of our goal.  In recent years we have opened our farm to tours, as well as mobile field trips to schools.  One of our business, and personal goals, is to offer agritourism to educate others on where their food comes from.
