Chicks Ahoy Farm

Hello 

We are not ready for a large/medium sized farm but I'd like to either purchase a farm, purchase farmland, or partner with a Farmer in Greater Hartford. We have been chicken keeping in Greater Hartford at my home for two years. I am 2 years into working towards my USDA farmer determination and I'd like to become a poultry farmer in Connecticut. I can manage about 2-4 acres of farmland right now. Here is what I am looking for but I am open to rethinking this with an experienced Farmer.  

• 1.5 - 2 acres of land  for my laying hens and startup broiler chickens project
• 2 acres for planting/growing vegetables, beans and peanuts.

I have established some business and organizational capacity for our farming projects. Chicks Ahoy LLC is my farm business with the laying hens. Chicks Ahoy Farm Inc is the community based 501c3 working to increase youth, women and BILPOC farming in the state of CT. I hold an annual statewide workshop series for the community called Growing Power and we get hundreds of people to come and learn about farming and sustainability in Connecticut 

I have Notary Public, HEMP Cert, CT Farm Tax Number, 3 acres of raw land in Tolland County, a farm vehicle, an LLC to hold the farm operations, and a not for profit organization for public education work. I'd like to start expanding my operation but also continue to transition my focus and efforts into farming full time.
