I started Apis Verdi Farm in 2013 to provide high quality vegetables to farmers' markets, restaurants, and other local venues. Over the past seven years my partner and I have annually increased both production and profits from the same acre. Our goal is to provide a wide range of vegetables and herbs to our customers every week. Using season extension techniques and technology we are able to both increase the amount of time we have summer crops (tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers), as well as extend other crops (roots and greens) through the winter. As a full year (four season) farm we are able to maintain our customer base and generate farm income 52 weeks a year. Looking toward the future we would like to buy a property which allows us to increase our production of current crops as well as add others, in addition to building the infrastructure necessary to make the farm more efficient, profitable, sustainable, and enjoyable to work.
