I have background in high-end gardening, farm work, and homesteading. My aim is to find 3-5 acres that can be shaped into productive food forest, low-impact/innovative homesteading, and regenerative food/ecosystem production utilizing livestock, plants, fungi and unconventional land-shaping techniques. 

The past several years, I’ve been focusing on small-scale vegetable production on a home scale, but have lacked access to sufficient land and longevity in one place to put into practice the knowledge I’ve acquired. 

I don’t have a business plan in place because I believe that the land will dictate what it’s good at and wants to help produce. Unfortunately, our current system rewards putting the cart before the horse and forcing the land to produce what you intend for it. That being said, my ultimate dream would be to have the productivity of the land be a source of food and resource production for the local community once its strengths are identified and nurtured. My first priority will always be environmental stewardship. If an action would produce a degraded aspect of the landscape -even generations from now- it isn’t an option. 

Our future as a society depends on many more people using regenerative practices, while providing useful resources readily accessible to their local communities. That will necessarily require private landowners prioritizing the heath of our planet, people, and resources over maximizing profit. Will you be one of those people?
