Tania Guerrero Portillo

I am a first-generation American looking to connect to my roots. My grandfather was a farmer and rancher in Honduras before he passed away in 2019. I grew up spending months at a time in that beautiful country connecting with the cattle he had and learning about the domestic crops, beans and rice. I graduated from Stony Brook University in 2021 amid a pandemic and realized that I wanted to find a way to be a farmer. I believe that food is such an important part of our preservation as a society, if not the most important part. At the moment, what I lack in experience I make up in the passion and the determination to succeed. I always dreamt of having a farm and thought that I would have to go to Honduras to realize it, but I rather give back to the country I call home. I hope that one day I can create a farm-to-table kitchen concept and even make a lodging experience within the farm to teach others about the importance of farming and preserving our land!

Attached you will find a simple resume of the work I have done post-graduation. I am also interested in law and am working towards going to law school. I have ample experience working in a law firm, specifically in litigation and personal injury. I also have experience working in property management for the City of New York and am currently helping my family manage 3 properties here in the beautiful state of Connecticut!
