Description

I started my own cut flower business in fall 2024 at Island Community Farm in Middletown RI. I sell through a CSA, at the Aquidneck Growers Market in Newport, direct to florist wholesale, and run my own workshops. I was previously the farm manager of Little State Flower Company in Tiverton, RI from January 2023-2025. There I grew a wide variety of perennials and annuals in our heated greenhouse, three high tunnels, and 3-4 acres of field plantings. We were in production for 11 months out of the year and had a very sustainable business model with diversified sales outlets.

Prior to this, I was a lead harvester at Island Time farm on Long Island, specializing in cut Flowers and private gardens. I also worked at Fireplace Farm where I maintained gardens for three private clients and conducted plantings, cultivation, and harvests on our one acre farm property.

I got my start farming at Quail Hill in Amagansett, where I learned how to grow a mix of vegetables and flowers on 20 acres, using tractor cultivation and sustainable/regenerative methods. I was trained in every aspect of farming, from harvest to post harvest handling to marketing crops and working with Chefs and CSA members.

I also worked for almost a decade as a culinary educator and non-profit professional, organizing workshops and trainings for farmers on the east end of Long Island.
