Description

I have been farming on the property for about 10+ years. We have mature raspberry and blueberry plants, asparagus, and some fruit trees, such as peach and apricot that have produced pretty well.  We also have some apple, pear, plum, cherry, and native persimmon and mulberry trees that have not yet produced very well. In addition, we have aronia, elderberry, and some gooseberry and currant shrubs, as well as some grape and hardy kiwi vines. Flowers previously have been planted in order to sell them at our small farm stand. We are also able to use cottage law to sell some of our products. We have goats that we have milked, chickens, and previously had American guinea hogs. The chicken coop is in the barn as well as our pens for the goats. We have shelters suitable for pigs.  We have a wooden milking stand and we make yogurt and cheese for our guests when our goats are in milk. Permanent fencing surrounds our pastures and we have electric fences for goats, pigs, and chickens and solar chargers when we move our goats and chickens elsewhere on the property.  We have had grants that have allowed us to plant many pollinator plants, as well. 

I am 78 and wanting to partner with someone who might want to expand the farming operations, either growing more crops, expanding the fruit operation, and/or having more livestock. I am open to pretty much anything. I am wanting to scale back the B&B, but am open to keeping one room for that possibility. We can share the house because I want to do more traveling and visiting with my children and grandchildren. 

The 5 bedroom house was built in 1722 and has been beautifully updated to include 3 bathrooms and a modern kitchen, but retaining its historic features. It is in excellent shape with solar, mini-splits, and heat pump water heater providing heat and hot water. We have an attached glass greenhouse.   We try to live sustainably and in beauty.
