He has since retired and NCLC hopes to find a new steward of the land, either to take over the tree farm, currently planted with over 1,000 trees of various sizes and types, or to come up with a plan for converting the property to other agricultural uses.

Description

NCLC invites proposals for a long-term agricultural lease of approximately eight acres located at 2 Upland Road, New Milford, Connecticut, on the south side of Upland Road at Route 202. The property has operated as a Christmas tree farm for more than 20 years. The previous farmer retired and sold the final harvest of trees in December 2025.


With the release of this RFP, NCLC seeks to expand opportunities for agricultural use of conserved farmland while promoting sustainable and environmentally responsible farming practices. NCLC will select the proposal that best satisfies the criteria and requirements of this RFP and advances the organization's conservation mission.
